Very similar to the satsuma variety uni shu. These mandarins were originally grown in the territory China and Japan. Satsuma and unishu came to Europe already at the end of the 19th century. They became the basis of the tangerine gardens of Georgia, which were actively developed at the beginning of the 20th century. Satsuma fruits are usually larger than those of ordinary tangerines, the skin is thicker and looser, usually lighter - more yellow than orange. These fruits are also easy to peel and have a small number of seeds, which depends on the variety. Satsuma tastes somewhat sourer than other types of tangerines.
